The Caribbean is one of those dreamy destinations with its palm-fringed sandy beaches, crystalline waters and beautiful scenery.

Although the pandemic has seen worldwide travel restrictions in place, some of the Caribbean islands are actually open for Brits who want to go on holiday.

The best part? There are destinations where you won’t need to quarantine either side, not to mention they’re exempt from the Foreign Office advice against non-essential travel.

We take a look at the Caribbean islands which are currently open to Brits for a holiday.

Anguilla, Barbados, Dominica and Grenada are open to Brits and you won’t need to quarantine when you come back to the UK – however, we haven’t included them in this list as you will need to quarantine on arrival.

St Lucia

St Lucia has everything you could want for a dreamy Caribbean getaway; heaps of sunshine, beautiful sandy beaches, swim-friendly waters and some brilliant hotels and resorts.

To get there, British Airways has flights/packages from London, while TUI is re-launching holidays from the 3rd November (Gatwick) and 24th December (Manchester).

During the pandemic there are some restrictions in place that are worth noting.

For example, you’ll need to remain in your COVID-certified accommodation for the duration of your holiday. However, there is an exception – you’ll be allowed to explore if you are on an excursion arranged by your hotel.

Still, if you’re hoping to just flop down on the hotel beach, these may not have a huge impact on your trip.
Cuba has re-opened specific destinations for foreign tourists; Cayo Coco, Cayo Cruz or Cayo Guillermo, Cayo Santa Maria or Cayo Largo del Sur and Varadero.

Still, Brits could make the most of the beautiful beaches and warm weather to be found at Varadero – and it’s about to get easier to travel there as TUI recently announced it was re-launching holidays to Cuba from the 1st November, with flights from Manchester to Varadero.

Antigua and Barbuda is open to Brits, but there will be some Covid-19 admin you’ll need to do to ensure that you can enjoy your holiday (more on this below).

The island offers heaps of beautiful beaches and brilliant foodie spots, not to mention intrepid explorers are sure to love the historic sites and walking trails.

You’ll need to provide proof of a negative Covid-19 test to enter the country – and you may be subject to health screenings when you arrive.
